This from our Ball Project Zimbabwe partner:
“I have partnership with the baseball guys here in Zimbabwe & I am using baseball as a vehicle to go & speak about HIV & Aids & leadership. I have targeted the under 18 girls from the less privileged families.
Most of these girls have been victims because of where they come from being abused. Some of these kids their parents cannot even afford to raise the school fees & I am helping them look for sponsors. The Defense for Children International will be coming on board to talk to the children. We have others who need wheelchairs & I have to source them.
I had an office that we were using & for the past two months I was sick. The three people I was working with left the office. I have closed the office & I am starting all over. My program is continuing as I have daily programs. They were all volunteers talked of getting paid.
It is one of those challenges.
Be blessed.”
Thanks to our Zimbabwean partner & his willingness to keep working to help the families in his community & to help children play. If you would like to help reestablish this community work in Zimbabwe please let us know. You can also give to this project through PayPal or by sending a check with Zimbabwe in the memo line.
Thanks & keep up the good work.
