Here is a great recent update from one of our Indian partners located in the city of Chennai.

Winter in Chennai only means that kids love to play more and more. It’s that time of the year when kids can play for long hours without having to worry about the sun, heat and sweat that will tire them. Many young boys have come forward to play soccer recently. We have been coaching close to 40 boys around the prison area in Chennai, India.

We have been giving them a good chance to play in tournaments which has been a big encouragement for the young boys. They live in communities where the young boys are not often given chances to play when the senior boys play. Most of the younger boys who get coached have not played in tournaments and are coached well. Through the “Ball Project” program we are able to provide opportunities.

This season we have also been teaching the value of serving and giving through soccer. Perhaps, no one has ever taught them before that giving and sharing are values that will build people and communities. It has been very satisfying teaching these young boys these values and in turn building young lives that will change communities.
