Here is an encouraging update from one of our South African partners near Cape Town:

SCAS Ball Project balls in the back of Ruby.6.2014

In the central of our activities is our soccer Club VD Stel FC (3 years running) we had a u11, u9, u8 group plus the seniors team (1st year) in 2018. We are training year round. All the junior teams were in the top 5 of the local league and the seniors won theirs, going up to the premier local division this year.

Our hopes for 2019 is to add a u13 group and expand the senior training group.

The heart of the club is to be a family and home to all. Some of seniors are calling me father and not coach.

Our Club also hosted a huge 410 player tournament. with the help of some students we were able to have enough officials and an outreach item on the program. This will now be an annual event.

We have previously established community teams in areas like De Doorns, Paarl and Worcester which we will keep on supporting in efforts to sustain their teams playing soccer and sport.

Regular holiday camps happen at least twice a year in these communities where we have up to 200 kids attending each day of the 5 day program.

In addition we would like to reach out or re-engage to 2 new communities.
Vredendal: We trained 12 coaches from a college in 2009 which became active coaching for life coaches. The college collapsed, and a church took its place. we were approached by them, 50 senior players and 7 potential coaches (to be trained) want to establish a club and community outreach program.

Saron: In 2018 we assisted an outreach to Saron’s community. the local soccer club asked us to see how we can help them in their community efforts.

Thank you once again for the funding of balls, it helps us serving these guys much easier.

Thank you for being a blessing.

Ball Project is thankful for our partners working faithfully to serve coaches & communities & help children play.
