Here is a series of short updates from a Ball Project partner in the Bahamas:
It is a beautiful day on Eleuthera. A friend and I re-surfaced this backboard. It was crumbling from where the rim was broken off. Nothing that a 5/8 sheet of plywood cannot fix! A friend sent some nets. Pretty cool.
For the past 2 years I have been volunteering at 2 primary schools with limited sports equipment. Fortunately a couple of people have helped out with the school in James Cistern. The Hatchet Bay school is really lacking as are so many of the other primary schools.
Right now, the biggest need is at P.A.Gibson Primary in Hatchet Bay. This settlement is mostly underprivileged people. The children do not have much to do because they do not have much. A friend recently gave them a volleyball net and a ball. They went crazy! I would love for them to have a couple of adjustable basketball goals with some regulation size balls but also some of those smaller balls for the younger children. I have a couple of soccer balls for them but we do not have any goals so soccer goals would be amazing!
Ball Project helped with a grant for some balls & sports equipment & a new portable basketball goal.
Ball Project is thankful for our partners working to help their communities & to help children play.
