Partner Update: South Africa

2021 was a tough year in South Africa as all sports tournaments for schools were canceled due to pandemic. During some months some school sporting activities were allowed to take place but with no spectators or outside staff. That meant that we could not send our chaperones nor could we do the planned ball projects.

We did acquire about 500 tennis balls that we were supposed to use with planned ball projects. We also have about 50 Soccer balls that we were supposed to hand out to Township Soccer teams but with the restrictions, we were not allowed to. Hopefully, all this could be handed out in 2022.

We are very grateful for your support. The Ball project makes it possible for us to create opportunities to train volunteers in order to use them in our Ball Project Outreaches. They then become Chaperones at tournaments and once again use the tournament as a platform to hand out balls to coaches and Township teams.
