In 2021 Prochorus had quite a strong focus on the mental & spiritual development of the boys on the cycling project. With a great volunteer who also became staff, we were able to be very consistent with the mentoring sessions. The addition of the Friday Amplified Youth meetings worked great to complement the rest of the program. We also had a strong focus on academics on the side of our aftercare program.
Strict discipline allowed the boys to find their rhythm and safety in the clear expectations. We found this to be necessary since the fluctuating lockdown measures in schools brought about a lot of inconsistencies in their life and perhaps even laziness. The year ended on quite a high note with the 10-year celebration camp and a wonderful year-end party for all the children involved in the projects. Racing on events has become more of a norm again and the boys seem to enjoy the opportunity to do this even more than before. We all hope 2022 will be a year where more events could be attended.
