I am highlighting our recent NW Football Ministries camp with Thrive International in Spokane, WA. Thrive is an offshoot of World Relief, who we have partnered with for 3 years now. We host a summer soccer camp for refugee youth every year. This year we served 60 kids, representing 10 different countries. The kids received a pair of cleats, soccer socks, shin guards and a soccer ball from Park SC.
The new USL team in Spokane also came out to highlight the camp and tell some of the kids’ stories. On the final day of camp, the team brought out the USA National Women’s Armed Forces soccer team. They played in the tournament alongside the kids. The local news featured the camp too!
I also forgot to include that Soccer Chaplains United sent me with a bunch of Colorado Rapids gear to give out to the kids at the camp. I started working with SCU in late 2020. I serve as the chaplain for the Tacoma Defiance – the Sounders second team.
Ball Project is thankful for our partners in the USA & around the world working faithfully to build communities & help children play.
