Here is a short but sweet update from Last Bell, one of our partners in Ukraine:
Last Bell serves orphanage graduates in Zhytomyr, Ukraine. We start with mentorship, then begin meeting practical needs in the areas of housing, education, job skills, parenting classes, and counseling. Our first contact with orphanage graduates is in the trade schools in our city, where orphan teens are sent from all over the region. Then we invite them to the Day Center. One reason our youth love the Day Center is that we have ping pong, foosball, and other games that Ball Project has helped us provide. For some of our youth, this is the first time in their lives they’ve had fun with adults who care about them. It may also be the first time they’ve seen ways to have fun without alcohol! Our foosball and ping pong tables are always busy. The Day Center is a place for learning and play, in contrast to the trade schools where our students are often frustrated and lonely. |
Ball Project works with schools, orphanages, clubs, teams, coaches, leagues, NGO’s, churches & other groups to help children play.
Ball Project is grateful for all of our partners working faithfully around the world to help build & serve their communities & help children play!
Here is an encouraging update from one of our Ukrainian partners Last Bell:
We work with orphanage graduates in Zhytomyr, Ukraine, including over 650 orphan students, older orphans, orphan parents, & their children. Our youth LOVE the foosball tables that Ball Project helped us purchase for the Day Center. In the photo, the young lady on the right is AV. Last Bell has helped A & her sister by advocating with the government for housing, then renovating the fire-damaged apartment they received. A is now studying psychology and volunteers with our staff visiting a local orphanage. She & her sister are very hospitable, reflecting the hospitality they’ve received at the Day Center & from our staff. |
Ball Project is thankful for our partners like Last Bell, working to build their communities & help children play.
Here is an encouraging update from one of our partners in Ukraine:
Last Bell Ministries works with orphanage graduates in Zhytomyr, Ukraine. Most recently, the Ball Project helped us install Foosball tables and purchase other supplies for soccer and games.
One orphanage graduate is studying to combine youth leadership development and soccer. We helped her with balls and other supplies for a soccer group she coaches. Her caption for the photo: “This is how we LOST four goals!” She is helping kids like herself – including orphans – learn how to play, including the daydreaming part!
What a fantastic picture!
