Ball Project provided $300 recently for us to purchase basketball, volleyballs, and soccer balls for a community sports camp here in Albuquerque. This was the first major project that our local community sports team has attempted, and it went really well!

q3.2019 camp coaching

We did a 3-day sports camp for around 35 kids in the International District, a neighborhood in Albuquerque synonymous with crime, poverty, gang activity, and hopelessness. We partnered together with a local Hispanic church, an after school program, a local basketball coach, and SportQuest.

NM q3.2019 circle talk

Together we were able to provide an excellent experience for these kids that was fun, that helped them play and be active, and that gave them hope. Each day we focused on a specific word: Passion, Perseverance, and Purpose, and we shared a faith story. The kids loved it, and many of them will stay involved with our local organizations and opportunities (church, after school program, basketball skill development, etc.).

This event was such an encouragement to our team, and now we are dreaming about the next step in the development of our team as well as in serving this community. A huge thanks to Ball Project for providing the sports equipment for this project! That was a great blessing and encouragement to us!

NM q3.2019 balls & equipment

Ball Project is thankful for our partners around the world, like this community sports team in Albuquerque, for helping children play.

sportquest bp balls!

Hello,

I just wanted to reach out and say a huge THANK YOU for granting us the funds to purchase this equipment for our youth sports programs in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

I work in an under served neighborhood where new sports equipment is hard to come by. Oftentimes our volunteer coaches (including me!) spend our own money to make sure the teams have game balls and that we have a few practice balls.

This equipment will provide practice and game balls as well as scrimmage jerseys for 4 soccer teams (ages 5-13), two football teams (ages 9-13), and two basketball teams (ages 10-14). In total, over 100 kids will be served through this donation.

Hope you have a blessed holiday season.

I know a few kids who will be excited to hit the court and the pitch come January!

Thanks!

Here is a short update from one of our USA based partners:

bp rainbow clinic

I currently live and work in an inner city neighborhood in Tampa, Florida. Every day kids from the neighborhood come out to a field that was purchased by a partner to engage in sports and recreational activities.

This is a great opportunity for our staff and volunteers to connect with kids, teach sports skills, mentor, and teach life skills. These kids don’t have much so it has been great to see their excitement over the new equipment provided by the Ball Project.
