Here is an encouraging update from one of our partners in Guatemala:

Amigos de la Aldea is a Guatemalan organization, which originally focused on Rural Development in projects on solar energy, clean cook stoves and water filtration. More recently, ADLA has focused on the education and development of girls in rural communities. We believe that educated rural women play a key role in supporting their households and communities in achieving food and nutrition security, generating income, and improving rural livelihoods and overall well-being. As moms, they can foster Christian values, principles and traditions that keep our societies strong.

We are now supporting and providing scholarships to 120 girls based in Jalapa (eastern Guatemala) and looking to open another support project in Esquipulas in northeast Guatemala.

Since 2009 we have given over 750 full scholarships to rural children that include tuition, teachers, curriculum, books, supplies, backpacks and uniforms. We have also donated computer equipment and other facilities to improve education. We also have supported them with sports supplies and playground facilities but in a more limited way.

Thank you to Ball Project for helping support our effort to offer more options for the girls to do outdoor and sports activities for their well-being.

Ball Project is thankful for our partners all around the world working faithfully to strengthen communities & help children play.

Isn’t it a riddle and awe-inspiring that things can be so beautiful, despite the horror? I’ve seen something wondrous peering through my joy in the beautiful, a sense of its creator. Only people can be truly ugly, because they have free will to separate themselves from this song of praise. It often seems they will drown out this hymn with cannon thunder, curses, and blasphemy. But I have realized they will not succeed. And so I want to throw myself on the side of the victor.” – Sophie Scholl

To date our partners & friends in Ukraine, like Last Bell & Sportsquest, are all safe & healthy. Some have stayed put, some have evacuated.

Friends from the region are asking for prayers for peace, safety & wisdom for everyone in Ukraine, Russia & the Russian speaking world.

No one in the world can change Truth. What we can do and should do is to seek truth, and to serve it when we have found it. The real conflict is the inner conflict. Beyond armies of occupation and the catacombs of extermination camps, there are two irreconcilable enemies in the depth of every soul: good and evil, sin and love. And what use are the victories on the battlefield if we are ourselves defeated in our innermost selves?” – Maximilian Kolbe

In 2014 we started working with children in a municipal garbage dump, thank God
our academy accumulated 90 boys from 5 to 20 years old.

Today we have 6 sports academies in different parts of our country, we mainly serve in low-income areas,
difficult to access due to the location, dangerous areas or with active gang members.

Each of the coaches voluntarily contributed their time to serve in their communities.

It is important to have the basic sports equipment for effective development in each
training session, the impact that these would have on the lives of the boys is
priceless, since it would motivate them to continue in each of their academies with
their friends.

Supporting themselves to get away from the gangs and change their
lifestyle, is our prayer to God

Thanks to Ball Project, I received a donation of soccer balls that are being a blessing for 6 sports academies, around 600 children and young people! Thank you.

Ball Project is thankful for all of our partners working faithfully to build their communities & help children play.
