Here is an encouraging update from one of our SportQuest partners in Haiti:

Soccer in Haiti with a Ball Project soccer ball & handmade goals 2014

In 2010, Play It Forward, a community sports program has been established to work with children and youth through the world of sport and play. Since that time it has been successful as it should be. Many athletes and coaches in the community are very engaged.

In 2016, I attended a sports leadership school. This school has changed my life in so many special way, I have become a better man for my family, friends, my country and for my Caribbean region as well in particular. Due to this school, I have a established right after I came to Haiti a sport Academy . Through my leadership and the Academy, there are about one hundred coaches, thousands of athletes and ten sport organizations who are involved in our sport community in Haiti. Many coaches are trained to go to be mentors in every city, community and village through sport and play. I would love to thank SportQuest and finally Ball Project for support and partnership as well. May we continue giving everything we have.

Ball Project is thankful for our partners around the world working to build communities & help children play.

One of our partners in the USA is based in Tampa, Florida. Here is their most recent update:

ballers

We work in an inner-city area of Tampa with kids primarily ages 6-18. We have a field and a garage gym where we cultivate relationships through after school activities, games, sports, and fitness to engage students on a deeper level and share values.

The focus of our work is to launch and grow multiplying youth movements that transform communities until the whole world knows how to be united. We are engaging with kids through sports and fitness 4 days a week and two additional days through leadership and mentoring opportunities through the relationships that are built.

Ball Project is thankful for all of our partners working faithfully to build relationships & their communities & to help children play.

Ball Project provided $300 recently for us to purchase basketball, volleyballs, and soccer balls for a community sports camp here in Albuquerque. This was the first major project that our local community sports team has attempted, and it went really well!

q3.2019 camp coaching

We did a 3-day sports camp for around 35 kids in the International District, a neighborhood in Albuquerque synonymous with crime, poverty, gang activity, and hopelessness. We partnered together with a local Hispanic church, an after school program, a local basketball coach, and SportQuest.

NM q3.2019 circle talk

Together we were able to provide an excellent experience for these kids that was fun, that helped them play and be active, and that gave them hope. Each day we focused on a specific word: Passion, Perseverance, and Purpose, and we shared a faith story. The kids loved it, and many of them will stay involved with our local organizations and opportunities (church, after school program, basketball skill development, etc.).

This event was such an encouragement to our team, and now we are dreaming about the next step in the development of our team as well as in serving this community. A huge thanks to Ball Project for providing the sports equipment for this project! That was a great blessing and encouragement to us!
